Other conditions we manage

If what you are dealing with is not listed above, it is very likely still something we treat. Call us and ask.

In short: Podiatry Healthcare Group treats the full range of foot and lower-limb conditions across four Melbourne clinics — heel and arch pain, orthotic therapy, laser treatment for fungal nails and warts, sports injuries, diabetic foot care, children’s podiatry, and routine skin and nail care. Most appointments need no referral.

How we approach treatment

Every treatment on this page starts the same way: with an assessment aimed at finding the cause, not just naming the symptom. That matters more in podiatry than most people expect, because the same complaint — heel pain, say — can come from half a dozen different sources, and each one responds to something different.

We will ask about your symptoms, your footwear, your work and your activity, examine your feet and lower limbs, and where it is useful watch how you move. Then we explain what we have found in language that makes sense, and agree a plan with you rather than at you.

Do you need a referral?

Almost certainly not. Private patients and anyone claiming through private health cover can book directly. The exceptions are Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card holders and WorkCover clients, who do need a referral.

Rebates

All major Australian health funds cover podiatry, and every one of our clinics has HICAPS so you can claim on the spot. Medicare covers podiatry for people with certain chronic conditions such as diabetes, long-term arthritis or vascular disease, through an Enhanced Primary Care plan arranged by your GP. Full detail is on our FAQs page.
